Re: DEHYDRATING - Making Tomato Powder
from socalgardengal on 03/01/2015 10:29 PMI never would have thought of doing this. Thank you for the info. I can probably do it woth any veggie right? My daughter is a very picky vegetarian and I could make powder from any veg for a base for her soups. Now the wheels are turning :)

from socalgardengal on 02/27/2015 10:48 PMDon't know how to copy and paste from my phone so I will just write out the links and you can copy and paste in the browser. If the link does not work it might be because I can't use lowercase letter in the beginning of each link. See the first link as example.... the Http should be lowercase http . Try changing it before you push enter :)

Re: Frugal gardening
from socalgardengal on 02/27/2015 08:07 PMI reuse gallon water jugs for my smaller plants. I also save take out containers for seed starting. I have an old bookshelf that I will be using in the garden for a premade raised bed. I also had an old canapy that the top ripped off so I disassembled it and use the poles for my tomatoes. I love to reuse stuff as long as there are no bad chemicals in the material. I started to find pallets in the alleys to take apart to make some planters, BUT I have to make sure that they are not the treated kind. I found a few sites that have recycle projects for garden art as well. If I can find it in my bookmarks I will post some links for everyone
