TMJ problem

from zackey on 02/23/2015 07:03 PM

My TMJ is in high gear. My right cheek is swollen. I went to the dentist last week and he couln't find anything wrong with my teeth. He gave me some meds, but they haven't helped. Any home remedies or any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Zackey,

Have you ever tried a caster oil pack? Caster oil is pretty amazing stuff!
We've used it for inflammed joints. Very safe treatment. Here are a coulpe links

No I've never heard of that. I think I have some in the cupboard. Thanks for your help!

I've been tossing this around in my mind and I can't figure out how it can work if it's wrapped in plastic. I don't have a hot water bottle so I have to wait until tomorrow to try this out.

I would lay the caster oil cloth on your face/jaw area, place a piece of plastic wrap over it and put the water bottle on top. (The plastic is more to prevent staining from the caster oil) I know probably easier said than done :) but laying on your side, I think it should work. Hope this helps! Have a good night!

I understand now. I found a gel pack in the cupboard that can be microwaved. I'm gonna try it now.
