Re: Old wives' tales: gardening and the weather

from katjaqu on 04/03/2015 02:31 AM

This is a great topic.
I have always had an interest in folklore and old wives tales.

My mom's mother was Cherokee and so my mom had a few old wives tales.

Being around or touching plants at that time of the month would kill the plants

When the leaves are turned upside down on the trees it is going to rain.

Thunder will curdle milk

Re: Trade YOUR SUNFLOWERS with veggies or flowers

from katjaqu on 04/02/2015 05:53 PM

Hi Nicole,
My cousin lives down the road from me and has a huge variety of flowers.
I will print out your list and see if she has anything you are looking for.
She doesn't do internet but I know she would enjoy swapping seeds so if she can do a trade I will help her make it happen.
Have a great weekend🌱🌱🌱
Kathy.
