Food Grade Buckets

from katjaqu on 03/02/2015 08:31 AM

The bakery at Kroger's and several other local stores
save their 3, 4, 5, and 6 gallon food grade buckets with lids for me at no charge.
I pick them up twice a week so they don't mind keeping them.
I asked them not to spend time cleaning them.
I use the hair dyer and a little Goo-Gone to remove the label and clean them with bleach and Dawn dishwashing liquid.
They're really nice buckets to store food in or use for wine making or to use in the garden.

Wow really?!?! I've been buying mine for $1 at the local bakery. Guess I should go ask around

They were throwing them away before I started asking them to save them for me.
The buckets were going right into the landfill.
I really try to recycle as much as I can.
I'm sure they would start charging me if they really gave it much thought.

I share a few of them with friends because I have more than enough.

Our Winn Dixie washes them and gives them away for free.
