Searching for eggplant

from socalgardengal on 02/25/2015 06:03 PM

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some eggplant seed for my mother. She LOVES eggplant but has never grown her own. I don't have any cause I don't like it. Maybe I should try it again. Been since I was little :)
I have lots to trade... way more than listed on my trade list. No flowers though. We are in a drought so I like to be rewarded with edibles for the water use :)
Looking for these or any suggestions....
Casper
Pingtung Long
Thai Green
Udumalapet
Listada de Gandia
Rosa Bianca
Round Mauve

Thank you so much ~Christine

Hi Christine,
I just planted eggplant a few weeks ago and have a few seeds left over. They are from my garden of 2012.
I've already mailed out your seeds so I will drop these off at the P O the next time I'm in town.

We do eat a bit of eggplant.
I like to dehydrate it and then crush it into a powder and store it in a canning jar.
It is really good to add to homemade soup and stew.

I do that with a lot of the vegetables that I grow.

I like taking dehydrated vegetables and making soup mixes as well. They store well in canning jars and will last a long time.

Thank you very much Kathy. I appreciate it :) What a great idea to make soup mixes. Maybe you can post how you do it in the recipe section....hint hint.

I have black beauty eggplant seeds, as many as you want, let me know if you still need them.
